Baltimore's annual Bea Gaddy dinner to take place in new location
(Baltimore, MD) -- Baltimore's annual Bea Gaddy Thanksgiving Day Dinner will be held this year, but in a different location.
The dinner is usually served at the Recreation Center in Patterson Park, but the center is closed for HVAC repair.
Mayor Brandon Scott says this year's dinner will take place at the Middle Branch Fitness and Wellness Center in the Cherry Hill neighborhood.
He says the Bea Gaddy dinner is an honored tradition and the city has worked to make sure it moved forward no matter what.
Bea Gaddy began serving Thanksgiving meals to the community in 1981 and her dying wish in 2001 was for the tradition to continue.
Gaddy's daughter Cynthia Brooks is thanking the city for helping to find a temporary site.
