(Bel Air, MD) -- A North Carolina woman is facing charges after her young son's death in Harford County.
Bel Air police announced today they've charged 37-year-old Gloria Hughes with first-degree murder and child abuse.
She was arrested early Sunday morning after officers responded to a child in cardiac arrest in the 400 block of Main Street.
An off-duty Harford County sheriff's deputy spotted a woman holding a lifeless child.
The toddler was taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, where the 3-year-old boy was pronounced dead.
Police say, based on significant evidence that includes video evidence, Hughes is charged with her son's murder.
