(Washington, DC) -- Members of Maryland's congressional delegation are reacting to the House vote to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Representative Andy Harris was one of 214 House Republicans voting to impeach Mayorkas over his handling of the southern border.

Posting on X, Harris says he voted for impeachment because Mayorkas has blatantly refused to enforce the law and has allowed millions to pour through the southern border every year.

Maryland Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen says the House impeachment is a disgrace, and it's clear that House Republicans care far more about keeping the MAGA crowd happy than governing.

Van Hollen says it's the same gang that rejected the bipartisan border deal without reading it because Trump told them to.

Acquittal is expected in the Senate.
