(Atlanta, GA) -- Maryland Task Force One has arrived at a staging area in Atlanta, Georgia.
The first responders will assist with swift water and other search and rescue operations related to Hurricane Helene.
The task force is made up of 45 members from Montgomery, Howard and Prince George's county fire departments along with DC Fire and EMS.
Helene is expected to make landfall along the Gulf Coast of Florida with a possible storm surge of up to 20 feet in some parts.
Flooding rain is also expected in Georgia and other parts of the south.
