BGE crews began their trip to Florida Wednesday to help restore power in communities left in the dark by Hurricane Milton.

Fifteen crews that include more than 40 line-workers, fleet specialists, safety personnel, and additional support staff are expected to remain in Florida for around two weeks and BGE says it is prepared to send more help if needed.

The BGE crews are expected to be on-scene in Florida today.

More than 2.6 million Florida homes and businesses had lost power by midnight and more outages are expected.
