(Baltimore, MD) -- Northern parts of the Baltimore metro area could see light snow showers or a wintry mix on Friday as a cold front moves through the region.

No accumulation is expected and areas to the south should only get rain.

In Western Maryland, a Winter Storm Warning will be in effect in Garrett County from 10 o'clock this morning until midnight Friday.

Heavy snow is expected with six to 12-inches of accumulation, along with high wind gusts and possible whiteout conditions.

The National Weather Service is advising people to stay off the roads in Western Maryland and parts of Virginia and West Virginia.
