(Baltimore, MD) -- A Winter Storm Watch takes effect late tonight with possible snow and sleet accumulations of at least five inches and possibly as many as ten inches.
The National Weather Service issued the watch beginning tonight at 10 p.m. and remaining in effect until Tuesday morning at 1 a.m.
The watch covers Baltimore, as well as parts of central, north central, northeast, and northern Maryland.
According to the weather alert, motorists could see "hazardous conditions" in both their morning and evening commute on Monday.
⚠️Conditions will rapidly deteriorate tonight with untreated & unplowed roads becoming impassable. During times of heaviest snow, between midnight and mid-morning Monday, even primary & treated roads will be impassable. It is highly recommended to postpone non-essential travel.
