(Washington, DC) -- Some members of Maryland's Congressional Delegation will be attending the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump today, while others will not.
Among those planning to attend the ceremony in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda are Democratic Senators Chris Van Hollen and Angela Alsobrooks who say they are supporting the peaceful transfer of power.
Representatives Steny Hoyer, Johnny Olszewski, Sarah Elfreth and April McClain Delaney are also among the Democrats who plan to attend.
Republican First District Congressman Andy Harris says he looks forward to Inauguration Day and the promise of a new administration.
At least three Democratic members of Congress will not attend including Kweisi Mfume, Glenn Ivey and Jamie Raskin.
The lawmakers instead will spend the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday taking part in community events for the National Day of Service.
