(Baltimore, MD) -- Baltimore leaders plan to look into the issue of increasing Baltimore Gas and Electric bills.
On Monday, Council President Zeke Cohen was among those council members calling for an investigation into BGE's rate increases and business practices.
The City Council has fielded numerous complaints from residents and business owners about what they call seemingly never-ending increases of their electric bills.
The first hearing on the matter is set for February 20th.
We heard from residents and a restaurant owner that skyrocketing BGE bills are simply not sustainable. We announced our first hearing.

The City Council will stand with ratepayers, not the shareholders of BGE. We will fight for our citizens even when we are up against a Goliath. pic.twitter.com/crauLYXIwT
