(Annapolis, MD) -- Maryland Governor Wes Moore is reminding federal government workers in the state that they may qualify for unemployment benefits.
Moore says federal civilian employees who become unemployed due to no fault of their own can apply for Unemployment Compensation for Federal Employees (UCFE).
Other eligible workers can apply through the regular Unemployment Insurance program, but self-employed workers and independent contractors are not eligible for benefits.
Thousands of Marylanders may be out of a job following President Trump's efforts to reduce the federal workforce.
Today, we're launching our Maryland Public Servant Resource website.
