(Baltimore County, MD) -- One person is dead following an officer-involved shooting in Baltimore County.
The shooting happened at around 7:30 Sunday night in the 8200 block of North Boundary Road in Dundalk as police were responding to a report of an armed man experiencing a mental health episode.
During the encounter, an officer responded to the man's actions, resulting in an officer shooting the subject.
The man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say a firearm was recovered from the scene.
The Independent Investigations Division of the Maryland Attorney General's Office is investigating the shooting.
Under Maryland law, all fatalities involving law enforcement officers must be reviewed by the IID.
