(Annapolis, MD) -- Governor Wes Moore is releasing $62 million in state funds to ensure full November SNAP benefits for Marylanders.
In a court filing Monday, the Trump administration said it would cover 50-percent of eligible households' current allotments.
It comes after two federal rulings last week that ordered the Trump administration to use contingency funds to cover some of the SNAP program.
The state's funding represents its contribution to making SNAP recipients whole following the federal rulings.
Governor Moore says however, that no state can fill the enormous gap created by the administration and it's time for the federal government to fully fund food assistance.
