Maryland State Police urge residents to prepare now for weekend winter storm

Maryland State Police

(News Source) -- Maryland State Police are urging residents to prepare for this weekend's winter storm and make plans now to limit travel.

Officials say when a Snow Emergency Plan is in effect, travel is strongly discouraged unless it's absolutely necessary and vehicles parked on designated snow emergency routes will be towed.

Roadways must remain clear so plow trucks and first responders can safely operate and vehicle crashes can delay emergency response times.

State Police say staying off the roads helps keep everyone safe and allows crews to restore safe travel conditions more quickly.
