(Baltimore, MD) -- A new traffic unit is now targeting deadly crashes and dangerous driving in Baltimore.
The Citywide Traffic Team is focused on speeding, impaired and reckless driving, and violations at schools, intersections and pedestrian crossings.
Police say the unit is also focusing on Maryland drivers improperly using Virginia license plates, an issue tied to nearly 1100 citations last year.
Since launching in mid-January, the unit has already made hundreds of traffic stops as part of a data-driven effort to improve safety across the city.
