Severe Wednesday storms to be followed by cold temps, chance of snow showers

(Baltimore, MD) -- Severe storms moved from Western Maryland to the Baltimore area Wednesday, bringing thunderstorms, tornado warnings and heavy rain.

The storms downed trees and power lines in some areas of Howard, Carroll and Baltimore counties along with parts of North Baltimore.

At the height of the storms, BGE reported more than 10,000 power outages throughout the service area.

The weather is in for a change today with temperatures dropping and a chance of rain or snow showers through the afternoon.

The weather is expected to clear tonight with temperatures dropping to the low 30's. Friday will be partly sunny and breezy with a high of 53.
