Baltimore County man charged in road rage shooting on Perring Parkway

A Baltimore County man has been charged in connection with a road rage shooting that left a man injured Friday morning.

Salaahud Punnette, 36, was charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and multiple firearms-related offenses. He is currently being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

The shooting occurred around 6:20 a.m. Friday near Perring Parkway and Putty Hill Avenue. Officers arrived to find a 28-year-old man with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his upper body. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Detectives say the incident stemmed from an isolated road rage encounter and there is no active threat to the community.
