(Baltimore, MD) -- Mayor Brandon Scott delivered his sixth annual State of the City address at Baltimore Center Stage Tuesday night.
“When we talk about the ‘State of the City,’ we have to talk about so much more than what goes on at City Hall,” said Mayor Scott. “This is the greatest city in America because Baltimoreans are the greatest people on Earth. Baltimore’s potential is the potential of each and every person that calls her home. And the future of Charm City — your city, my city, our city — is one we’re building together.”
The mayor highlighted the Baltimore's drop in crime, plans for better city roads, investments in youth, recent measures to protect the rights and safety of migrants and all residents.
The mayor also outlined a program that would give some legacy homeowners over the age of 65 a chance to wipe out property tax debt.
Mayor Scott also announced the Security Deposit Assistance Program to help eligible renters who need assistance with a security deposit and two programs that aim to lower energy costs.
The mayor also went over the city's updated Overdose Response Strategic Plan and previewed his fiscal 2027 budget.
