(Baltimore, MD) -- Governor Wes Moore and state transportation officials have unveiled the Baltimore Region Transit-Oriented Development Strategy.

The governor was joined by Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott on Monday to announce the plan to develop state-owned land around Baltimore area transit stations to create thousands of housing units.

The governor says partnerships between the state, localities and businesses are needed to fully realize the potential impact of transit-oriented development.

He says it could lead to more than 5,000 new housing units and almost $1.4 billion in state and local tax revenue from state-owned land alone.
