A federal lawsuit alleges that a former Baltimore County teacher gave sleep-promoting melatonin to special needs students.

The teacher allegedly dosed the children every school day for two months in 2024.

The alleged incidents came to light after the mother of a student with non-verbal autism was informed that a staffer reported it to the administration at Maiden Choice School.

No criminal charges have been filed, and the lawsuit alleges civil rights violations, assault and negligence.
