Baltimore City Schools deny working with ICE

(Baltimore, MD) -- Baltimore City Schools are denying working with ICE. Spokesperson Sherry Christian says they're questioning their "characterization of events" that unfolded Thursday.

ICE officials showed up at Commodore John Rodgers Elementary/Middle School and arrested two people.

Governor Moore says this incident is "deeply disturbing" and should not have been done in front of children. Moore's office continues to investigate.

Mayor Brandon Scott says the city will continue to do everything within its power to protect immigrant neighbors.

He says in these times of uncertainty, the city stands with immigrant families who have been impacted by detentions.

Mayor Scott reminds the public that help is available through the Baltimore City Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs.
