The number of cyclosporiasis in Maryland is increasing.
According to the Maryland Department of Health, there have been 69 cases of the intestinal illness with 65 of them occurring since May 1st.
Health officials say cyclosporiasis cases remain low in Maryland compared to other parts of the country, but, as they increase, it's important to know the symptoms so you can contact your healthcare provider for treatment.
Symptoms usually appear between one and 14-days after consuming contaminated food or water.
