The 2026 Shop Maryland Tax-Free Week is underway.
From now through August 15th, shoppers don't have to pay Maryland's six percent sales tax on clothing and shoes priced at $100 or less.
Comptroller Brooke Lierman says shopping during the sales tax holiday is a great way to keep money in the pockets of hardworking Marylanders and help their budgets go further.
The sales tax is also exempt for the first $40 on the purchase of backpacks.
