(Annapolis, MD) -- Governor Wes Moore has directed the MTA to pause any toll increases for the next year to give Marylanders extra breathing room.
The governor says the state will use money from a settlement over the Key Bridge collapse to cover the cost.
In a video posted online, the governor says the move could save Maryland taxpayers at least $50 million.
The last time toll rates went up was in fiscal 2014 and they were expected to increase in fiscal 2028, which begins in July.
