(WEAA) — Maryland voters will head to the polls Tuesday for the 2026 midterm election, and the Maryland Transit Administration is offering free rides to help them get there.
The free service will be available on local bus, Metro Subway, Light Rail and Mobility transit. The MTA encourages riders to check the location of their assigned polling place and review schedules in the free Transit app, which includes directions to voting sites and real-time service updates.
Polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Anyone in line by 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote. Voters casting a ballot in person should report to their assigned polling place, which they can find here.
Mail-in ballots must be dropped off at a local board of elections, placed in a drop box or postmarked by 8 p.m. Tuesday.
