October CD: Positraction

Positraction
/
Four80East

Well put your “slippery earls” on for this one. All month long we will be grooving to the sounds of Rob DeBoer and Tony Grace, the Toronto based Canadian duo better known as Four80East.

Four80East returns after a two year hiatus of recording with an incredible mixture of sounds on “Positraction.” Present are touches of acid jazz, soul and electro jazz, and lots of groove.

They bring a few A-listers to assist in the groove: Jon Stewart (sax), Bill McBirnie (flute), Alexis Baro (a WEAA favorite on trumpet) and additional brass with Bob Rice (trumpet), Gene Hardy (tenor sax) and Gord Myers (trombone). Ten tracks give them lots of room to stretch out on as they continue to move the music forward.

Tune in all month long to hear various selections from the latest of Four80East, Positraction. It’s our CD of the Month here on WEAA-FM.
