WEAA offers an exquisite mixture of music programming, with a focus on artists, not labels. Our music is rooted in mainstream and contemporary jazz and is complimented by gospel, blues, reggae, world music, and hip-hop and even house music.

Women in Reggae on Reggae Roots and Culture, Saturday March 18th

Reggae Roots & Culture presents special programming during the month of March, featuring women in Reggae, and women in our communities doing great works. 

Guests each Saturday will include local, national and international artists, musicians, poets and authors as well as promoters. They will be interviewed and their music and works featured in celebration of HER-STORY.

Reggae Roots and Culture broadcasts at 10 AM on Saturdays.

An'jahla, Reggae artist, was born in Washington DC, and found her roots while seeking the truth. A descendant of African, African-American, Caribbean & Indigenous ancestors, An'jahla continues the musical journey her family started decades ago with the mission of creating unity, and leaving a blueprint for the next generation.

Kelissa, a Jamaican reggae artist, musician and entrepreneur, was raised in the inspirational hills of St. Andrew, Jamaica. Kelissa developed a natural inclination for music, largely influenced by a RastafarI and reggae upbringing. She continues to make music her central purpose. A truly diverse artist, her music is positive and conscious, inspiring and uplifting. 

Pat Dillon-Moore, is a producer, promoter, spoken word artist and actress who discovered her inner artistry at an early age. She has communicated larger ideas through many artistic disciplines. As a writer she has written several satirical monologues. As a broadcaster at CKUT (ckut.ca) she has produced radio programming for over 18 years.

Carrie Mullings is an ambassador of Reggae music who focuses her efforts on the development and promotion of Canadian reggae artistes and their music. She is a radio personality on CHRY 105.5 FM in Canada. She adores the homegrown music so much that she plays, promotes, and celebrates Canadian reggae by producing a charting system for Canadian artists and producers.

Tanya Mullings, is a multi award winning artist and Canadian's Queen of Reggae. Tanya is internationally recognized and has dedicated 25 years & 4 albums of work with the most prestigious producers in the industry covering all sub-genres of Reggae and Rhythm & Blues. Tanya is the recipient of several CRMA, RMAA awards and JUNO nominations.

Da’ Flame is an artist, writer, composer, musician, and performer. She is sought out by numerous top notch DJ’s in the United States, Jamaica and world-wide for Dub Plates, Drops, and Specials proving to be one of Washington, D.C’s fastest rising artist. “Big Things Come In Small Packages!” and that couldn’t be more true when referring to “Da’ Flame” aka Lady Flame.
