(Baltimore, MD) -- The race for Baltimore City mayor is a little less crowded.
Attorney and former prosecutor Thiru Vignarajah announced he is suspending his campaign and is endorsing former Mayor Sheila Dixon, who he called the best hope for moving Baltimore forward.
Vignarajah's announcement leaves Dixon and businessman Bob Wallace as the most prominent Democratic challengers to Mayor Brandon Scott as he seeks reelection.
Vignarajah also ran unsuccessfully for mayor four years ago.
Early voting for the May 14th primary begins on Thursday.
