(Baltimore, MD) -- Baltimoreans United in Leadership Development is thanking those who gathered at the Greater Harvest Baptist Church on Sunday for an announcement regarding vacant and abandoned properties in the city.
The gathering brought together state and city leaders, the Greater Baltimore Committee and PNC Bank for the announcement of plans to create a private capital fund that will address the properties.
BUILD has set a public goal to bring together more than $100 million for the fund. During the gathering, the Reverend Brent gave Mayor Brandon Scott a folder containing more than 100 unfulfilled permit applications and asked if he would see to them.
According to the Baltimore Banner, the move was in response to the low number of permits issued to conduct the work and the mayor said the system would be fixed.
