Kamilah Chase is a sophomore at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland, majoring in Multimedia Journalism. Her passion for storytelling began in 2018 when she had the opportunity to advocate for her middle school, Monarch Academy—an experience that taught her the power of clear communication, adaptability, and staying composed under pressure. She continued to develop her skills through hands-on experience in 2023 at the James E. Lewis Museum of Art (JELMA), where she focused on research, writing, and fact-checking. Currently, Kamilah is actively involved in campus media as a contributor at WEAA 88.9 FM, Morgan’s NPR-affiliate radio station, and as a member of BearTV, the university’s student-run television network.
