(Baltimore, MD) -- The Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care shelter is temporarily closed for all dog intake, adoptions, and foster placements until further notice after several dogs tested positive for Parvovirus.
BARCS says that Parvovirus has an incubation period of up to two weeks and its veterinary team is working to determine the scope of any potential exposure.
Those who are in the process of adopting a dog from BARCS will be contacted to discuss next steps.
BARCS says updates will be given as more information becomes available. BARCS is still open for cat adoptions and fostering.
