(Towson, MD) -- Proposed legislation in Baltimore County would prevent commercial house parties in residential neighborhoods.
The measure is not intended to stop residents from having parties at their own homes - it targets for-profit events that turn the residential properties into party venues.
Over the summer some county residents reported hundreds of people were paying to attend pool parties that were promoted on social media.
The proposed legislation would prohibit commercial parties at homes being advertised as venues where tickets are sold.
If approved by the County Council, the measure would take effect immediately.
