(Baltimore, MD) -- Maryland's Public Service Commission held a virtual public hearing and comment session on BGE's proposed surcharge.
Under the utility's proposal, Baltimore City BGE customers could face an additional charge of $9 a month starting in January.
BGE wants to charge city customers for the higher fees Baltimore is imposing on the utility for use of its underground conduit system.
City Council President Zeke Cohen opposes the proposal, calling it a "money grab."
Another meeting is set for November 4th, and the PSC is expected to make a decision in January.
