UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) — Five zebras that escaped from a Maryland farm nearly a month ago are still on the loose.

The Washington Post reports they got away from a private farm near Upper Marlboro on Aug. 31.

Prince George’s County animal control officials say the caretakers have been trying to lure the zebras into a fenced feeding area ever since.

Residents have been sharing stories of zebra sightings on social media.

Three of the zebras have been traveling together while the other two have been in a pair. County Animal Services Division Chief Rodney Taylor says people who see the loose zebras shouldn’t approach them or try to pet them.
