(BALTIMORE, MD) Maryland Department of Health reports an increase of 1,985 new positive coronavirus cases, three days after Christmas.

Data shows 28 more people have died from the virus. A total of 5,573 coronavirus-related deaths in Maryland.
Currently, 1,738 people are hospitalized due to the virus.
Maryland is still in Phase 1 of its vaccination plan.
According to the COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard, 20,812 people have been vaccinated in Maryland. Data shows, more than 11,000 people in the Baltimore Metropolitan Area have received the COVID-19 vaccine.
