Baltimore’s Godmother of Storytelling: Alanah Nichole Davis

Alanah Nichole Davis is the Chief Storyteller for Baltimore’s Mayor’s Office of Innovation, where she crafts narratives that spark change. Bronx-born and Baltimore-raised, she’s an award-winning writer, cultural worker, and human-centered designer known for her bold voice and community-first approach.

A graduate of MICA’s Social Design M.A. program, Alanah writes about love, race, womanhood, and humanity with a viral reach and timeless depth. Nicknamed Baltimore’s Godmother, she’s recognized for nurturing impactful projects and has earned honors like the Fred Lazarus IV Leadership for Social Change Award.

Alanah’s work spans art, tech, culture, environment, and AI—always with a focus on people, purpose, and possibility.
