Baltimore Community Lending (BCL) is a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) serving Baltimore City.

(WEAA)— The Baltimore Nature’s Colors Initiative is a ecosystem wide effort to help maximize the natural dye industry and promote economic development and job creation in disinvested communities.

The initiative is led by Innovation Works, a local organization working to build sustainable neighborhood economies.

BCL loan and marketing associate Melissa Badeker is joined by Marina Butler, the program coordinator for Innovation Works , Kenya Miles, the founder of Blue Light Junction – a natural dye garden & educational facility–and a farmer at Parks and People Foundation, and Myeasha Taylo, a farm education and production manger at Farm Alliance of Baltimore.

The four discuss their organization’s significant role in the Baltimore Nature’s Color’s Initiative.
