Baltimore Community Lending (BCL) is a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) serving Baltimore City.

(WEAA)— The Baltimore Nature’s Colors Initiative is a ecosystem wide effort to help maximize the natural dye industry and promote economic development and job creation in disinvested communities.

The initiative is led by Innovation Works, a local organization working to build sustainable neighborhood economies.

BCL loan and marketing associate Melissa Badeker is joined by Marina Butler, the program coordinator for Innovation Works, Kenya Miles, the founder of Blue Light Junction – a natural dye garden & educational facility–and a farmer at Parks and People Foundation, and Myeasha Taylo, a farm education and production manger at Farm Alliance of Baltimore.

The four discuss their organization’s significant role in the Baltimore Nature’s Color’s Initiative.
