Caribbean Exchange host, Nati Kamau-Nataki is joined in the first segment by Mama Zakiya Uzoma-Wadada, Executive Director of the Emancipation Support Committee of Trinidad and Tobago to ground on the history and significance of August 1st.
In the second segment, Kamau-Nataki reasons with Gaa'mang Gloria Simms, known to everyone as Mama G.
They look at her work in preserving Maroon heritage, fighting for Indigenous Peoples' rights, and bringing together various Maroon and Rastafari communities.
