(WEAA)—Black Maternal Health Week takes place every year from April 11 –17.
The initiative, which raises awareness about the disparity Black women face in healthcare, was officially recognized by the White House on April 13th, 2021.
Dr. Kecia Gaither, a double board-certified physician in OB/GYN and Maternal Fetal Medicine joins Dr. Kaye to share her expertise on maternity care, discuss institutional racism, and the disproportional impact of COVID-19 on the Black community.
#VitaminD supplementation and vaccines are some of the top recommendations from @KeciaGaitherMD for Black mothers-to-be during #BlackMaternalHealthWeek on @WEAA889 "Today With Dr. Kaye" @kayewhitehead https://t.co/2wivo4CQzM
