(WEAA)—Alabama coach Nick Saban is accusing Jackson State of paying Travis Hunter, Jr. $1 million under a name, image and likeness (NIL) deal.
Jackson State coach Deion Sanders responded to the accusations by calling Saban's comments a lie.
Keith Reed, co-host of the podcast, Run Tell This and contributing writer for The Root joins Dr. Kaye to discuss the ‘pay for play’ comments, NIH deals and Black-student athletes.
You best believe I will address that LIE Coach SABAN told tomorrow. I was & awakened by my son @ShedeurSanders that sent me the article stating that WE PAYED @TravisHunterJr a Million to play at @GoJSUTigersFB ! We as a PEOPLE don’t have to pay our PEOPLE to play with our PEOPLE.
