Black unity, reparations, and leadership take center stage this Juneteenth

Lawrence Bell, guest hosting for Dr. Kaye, explores the global significance of African Americans, noting that while Black people make up 13–14% of the U.S. population, they represent more than 80% of the world’s population of color.

He highlights the upcoming State of the People National Assembly, set for Juneteenth at Empowerment Temple in Baltimore, with featured speakers including Reverend Mark Thompson and Angela Rye.

Dr. Raymond Winbush, Director and Research Professor at the Institute for Urban Research at Morgan State University joins the conversation to stress the importance of Black unity and ongoing reparations efforts. He points to recent progress in cities like New York, Chicago, and Baltimore.

Together, they address challenges of divisiveness within the Black community and the need for collective action, leadership, and solidarity.
