Tuerk House offers lifeline after Penn-North overdose emergency

Dr. Maud Ayree of the Tuerk House joins Dr. Kaye to discuss the recent mass overdose in the Penn-North community, highlighting the vital role their 24/7 crisis stabilization center plays in providing immediate support and care.

The Tuerk House offers a wide range of services, including up to 28 days of inpatient treatment, residential programs lasting up to a year, and comprehensive outpatient care.

They also provide mental health services and methadone treatment for individuals in recovery.

Pierre Thomas, Director of Admissions, shares that their team was actively involved in the overdose response.

Two individuals who were referred to Tuerk from the University of Maryland, both expressed readiness to seek help.

The Tuerk House helpline is 410-233-0684, offering free crisis services and transportation within a 10–12 mile radius.
