Jamal Turner, chair of the Baltimore City Police Accountability Board, joins Dr. Kaye to break down Saturday’s town hall meeting on police accountability and where things stand now.
Turner explains that the board was created in response to a range of issues, with the goal of ensuring real oversight when it comes to police conduct.
“We exist for the purpose of holding police accountable for their actions when they have police-involved incidents with the public,” he said.
Turner also speaks on the recent drop in homicides and nonfatal shootings across the city. He credits grassroots organizations that have stepped up with resources, mentorship, and on-the-ground support in local communities.
