Carjackings on the rise in Baltimore: Sergeant shares advice, community shares concerns

(WEAA)— A Johns Hopkins trauma surgeon was shot Friday morning, in an attempted carjacking in Northeast Baltimore.

As of Friday, 135 carjackings have been reported in the city.

Sergeant Clyde Boatwright—president of the Maryland State Fraternal Order of Police—says, carjackings have increased 67% compared to reported incidents in 2021.
