Dr. Joseph V. Sakran is a trauma surgeon, public health expert, advocate, and a survivor of gun violence.
He is currently Vice Chair of Clinical Operations, Director of Emergency General Surgery, Associate Chief of the Division of Acute Care Surgery, and Associate Professor of Surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Following the shooting of his colleague during an attempted carjacking in Northeast Baltimore last Friday, Dr. Sakran joins Two Way Talk to share his experience with the city’s gun violence and the reality he faces every day.
