Baltimore’s new police budget, challenges of implementing community policing

(WEAA)— Mayor Brandon Scott announced a $3.3 billion budget proposal that would increase the city’s police budget by nearly $5 million.

Under the proposal, the Baltimore Police Department will eliminate 30 vacant positions and add 35 civilian positions to help detectives investigate crimes.
