(Annapolis, MD) -- A Maryland State Delegate is facing charges of embezzlement.
The Maryland State Prosecutor's Office has announced charges against Delegate Richard Impallaria, who represents parts of Baltimore and Harford Counties.
Impallaria is accused of facilitating rental payments from the General Assembly to his landlord using state funds for a district office that was allegedly outside his district.
Besides the embezzlement charge, the delegate is facing charges of theft and misconduct in office.
UPDATE: Del. Richard Impallaria's lawyer tells me the delegate "has not violated either the letter or spirit of the law."
