Carjackings on the rise in Maryland; Natalie Portman production crew threat was a hoax

— According to reports, some Maryland jurisdictions are seeing a spike a carjackings.

— Baltimore City Police continue to investigate a report stating a television production crew was held-up at gunpoint on Friday.

According to police, the crew member of an Apple TV series made up the story of being approached by a group of drug dealers demanding money.

Officials say a street vendor in the area of the production was demanding the production company pay him money for lost income like stores along Park Avenue were compensated for lost business.
