Baltimore community leader talks Upton redevelopment projects

Justice Thurgood Marshall portrait will be on display in City Hall until June 2024, after which it will be installed in its permanent home at the Thurgood Marshall Amenity Center in West Baltimore’s Upton neighborhood.

Reverend Dr. Alvin Hathaway is the President and CEO of Beloved Community Services Corporation, a 501 (3)(c) organization based in West Baltimore, created to serve the educational, health and social services needs of underserved persons in the city.

He joins Gabe Ortis to share the latest information on redevelopment projects planned for the Upton community, including the Justice Thurgood Marshall Amenity Center.

The center resides on the same site as PS 103 Elementary school, where Thurgood Marshall attended from 1914 – 1921.
