(Baltimore, MD)—Classes are cancelled today at Morgan State University while police continue searching for a suspect in a shooting on campus last night that sent five people to the hospital.
None of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries.
The victims, four men and one woman, aged from 18 to 22 years old.
City Police responded after campus police heard shots being fired outside a residential building and a fine arts center about 9:30.
The shooting occurred in the area of Thurgood Marshall Hall and the Murphy Fine Arts Center. Students were asked to shelter in place until midnight when police declared it was no longer an active shooter situation.
The shooting occurred during Morgan State's homecoming festivities this week.
Campus administrators will decide today on the remaining schedule for homecoming.
