Pugh pleads guilty to state perjury charges

The former Baltimore mayor entered her plea on Friday to the state misdemeanor charge.  Prosecutors claim she failed to disclose her business association with Healthy Holly LLC when she was a Maryland state senator.

She earned over $340,000 from the sale of Healthy Holly books in 2016, an amount which was not disclosed on the appropriate financial forms at the time.  Pugh left her role as mayor last year.  She has been sentenced to six months behind bars for the state perjury charge. Pugh is expected to report to prison in Alabama later this month to begin serving three year federal prison sentence.

Pugh pleaded guilty in February to conspiracy and tax evasion. She admitted to using the sales of her "Healthy Holly" children's books to fund her mayoral campaign through straw donors and to purchase her home and  admitttd to cheating on her taxes.
